High-Low tank top

This is one of the 4 projects that I had going on!!
It's a loose fitted dark pink tank top.
The neckline and armscye were finished with a bias from the some fabric, and surged on.

Tip: Since this material stretches along the selvage, I didn't have to cut the strips on the bias.

Once I get my scanner to work properly, I will try to upload my self-drafted patterns and make them available for FREE!!!!!

What can I say? Pleased with the length and fit :)
Demonstrating the high-low effect.

Alteration: I took an extra 5/8" on both side seams.
All seems were sewn with the serger.
Ready to go hiking!!!!!! Who's with me??????

Shirt Weaving

It may sound weird, but more than weird, it's TIME CONSUMING . I had fun constructing all the strips, inverting them with a special tool, which name escapes me at the moment haha.

Here's a picture of it:

......back to the shirt weaving, I found an inspiring picture on Pinterest.

My rendition:

Next time I buy fabric on sale, I have to write the material, because as usual........I don't know what this is :( other than  light cotton fabric hahaha. It's breathable, has a snap closure on the back of the neck, and it fits perfectly!!!!!

The end, by the way....... if any of you know the name of the special tool, please let me know! Thank you!

Another Make

Another heat repellant blouse!

The fabric is from SAS, one of my favorite fabric stores. It is a huge warehouse of piles and piles of fabric. This pink fabric has shell cutouts and it contains some stretch. The original version (orange) has no stretch and it fits tight, so I decided to add an extra inch on each side, and shortened the shirred hem.

Flowy Summer Shirt

Chiffon?????? what?????? did I actually attempt to tango with my nemesis fabric? I guess so!
From the beginning, this fabric was rebellious, I had to place wrapping paper underneath it, in order to obtain straight edges. It was magic.......until I got to the hem!!! This step was disastrous, not even the powerful mighty steam could tame it.........the wonky hem came out victorious.
As long as nobody looks at it with a magnifying glass, I will not stress over it.

It fits, I'm happy!!!!!
Fabric: Chiffon, from SAS
Pattern: Colorful stripped shirt
Happy sewing days to all the seamstress and tailors out there in the world!
