Burda Young 7148

I am back! The cold weather was inhibiting me from creativity.........or is it just an excuse for me being lazy!? :)

Finished this UFO (unfinished object) after a month and a half of cooler weather here in the desert  hahaha!

Hope you enjoy!!!!!

Made version B
Fabric used: A Joann purchase, it's a Wuji boucle black and gold knit (too bad the gold specks aren't visible)
Love a deep pocket. The pocket shouldn't have the seam down the middle, but I forgot to cut the pattern on the fold :(, none the less, it's still a functional pocket.
The back!
You can drape it off one shoulder, or both!
Very warm dress.
Added an elastic waist band instead of the draw string the pattern called for.
Raglan sleeves!
If I make this pattern again, I will reduce the neck a bit, make a tighter circumference so that it doesn't drape as much.

Overall pleased with the final outcome, now I need an excuse to wear it.............. Night out with the cousins :)

Another Burda young 6853

Ever go to a store, find a shirt, pant or dress that fits immaculately and buy 3 in different colors???? Well that is happening to me with this pattern :)

I love that it hugs the body, it has long sleeves, and it's not constricting my stride. I'm ready for the winter (not so winter in Arizona). Plus....... this fabric had been sitting in y closet for years, and there's tons more that I need to start pairing up with patterns. Yard sale anyone???

A few alterations:
     1. Shorter sleeves
     2. Changed the flared bottom of the dress for a straight look
     3. All the panels are the right side of the fabric

This pattern is EXTREMELY EASY, try it out, and if you choose a fabric doesn't stretch, then insert an invisible zipper and voilĂ , you have a beautiful dress!

The fabric has a wavy texture.

Have a wonderful day

Burda young 6853

Cozy grey dress!!!!

There's nothing more gratifying than finishing a knit garment, and not have to struggle to get your head through the neck opening :). This has been a continuous fail for me :(, but not today!

I made View A with this grey knit reversible fabric from Jo Ann's.
Enjoying the cooler weather outside. The heels have studs!

I sewed the back seam and avoided the installation of a zipper.
On my left arm you can see a dart at elbow height. This feature gives ease to your arm while bending (using non-stretch fabrics).
I spy with my little eye....a fig tree!
3 panels in the front.

Burda young 6850 View A

I know it's not winter yet, but nonetheless I've started to add warm pieces to my closet.  However, this does not mean I won't be sewing chiffon during the winter :)

Strolling down the isles of Joann's I found this stretchy thick knit, and fell in love with it! Plus I bought a burda pattern, because the model looked well put together, although the pants are baggy for my taste.

Here is the final look!!!! I had to shorten the top by 2 inches, because the model's waist was lower than mine.  Since the crop top was feeling lonely, I made her a pencil skirt to accompany her :)
I wore this outfit yesterday to a fashion show, and it was gratifying to hear "that outfit is cute". Not that I need adulation to feel accomplished on my garments, but it made me smile.

I was in a rush to finish the skirt, that I did not take my time to match the white stripes on the waist band :(, please don't look to closely.......

Can't believe I'm showing some belly, it made me somewhat uncomfortable, but I still wore it. Hurrayyyyyy for me!!!!!

Look at that sleeve!!!!!! I could parachute with this top hahahaha
