My first Denim anything!!!!

Stretch Denim Jacket!

This is the first time I decide to make anything out of denim, and the experience was extremely pleasant, that I believe I'm in love with this material.

About the design: I drafted the pattern from a white knit jacket found in my closet.
Alteration: shorter sleeves (didn't have enough fabric), and added a facing from a different non-stretch cotton fabric.

Sporty look!!

In order to tie the whole look, I decided to include some of the facing fabric onto the pockets.

The back of the jacket is composed of 4 panels, creating the illusion of a small waist and the hopes of becoming a tailoring master :)
Topstitched the noticeable seams (back, front, side and arms) as an extra element for the design.
Thread used: a thick denim grey thread.

Front has 2 panels and 2 pockets!!!
Gotta have those pockets.

Facing: the fabric resembles adds in a newspaper. It's the same fabric I used to make a previous 1950's dress.

I say until next time with a closer look at the facing and pocket.

High-Low tank top

This is one of the 4 projects that I had going on!!
It's a loose fitted dark pink tank top.
The neckline and armscye were finished with a bias from the some fabric, and surged on.

Tip: Since this material stretches along the selvage, I didn't have to cut the strips on the bias.

Once I get my scanner to work properly, I will try to upload my self-drafted patterns and make them available for FREE!!!!!

What can I say? Pleased with the length and fit :)
Demonstrating the high-low effect.

Alteration: I took an extra 5/8" on both side seams.
All seems were sewn with the serger.
Ready to go hiking!!!!!! Who's with me??????

Light grey sweater

Not too cold or too hot, love the weather in the west coast!!!!
Ideal for this........ knit sweater?!

I am currently sewing 3 other garments!!!! ahhhhhhhh, which is why I needed a simpler and comfy project :)

Other Projects: a jean jacket (or something along those lines), a vinyl vest (trying to make it have a steam punk vibe, we'll see how that turns out), and a loose fitted top (another easy item).  Self drafted patterns for all of the abovementioned projects :)
WISH ME LUCK!!!!!!!!!!

Back to the sweater.............
Self drafted the pattern from my shirt/sleeve slope for knits.

The hem, neck line and sleeve hem were finished with the serger, folded and then I used the zigzag stitch.
This knit fabric was tricky to work with, giving me a wavy hem line :(
So........... please don't scrutinize this work hahaha

Showing long sleeves, I wore a pink tank top, because IT IS VERY see through!!!!

See the orchid behind me? A gift from my cousin Karla, and it's the second time it blooms!!!!! yayyyyyyy!
The length sits on hip level.
The front :)
That's all sewing world, 'til next post!
